Boathouse Ministries and The Chapel On The Pond

Boathouse Ministries is a small public charity, section 501(c)3, that exists to serve, to encourage others to seek God, to build up, to foster community, and to love. It is the product of a vision which compelled us to “reclaim a church for Jesus Christ.”

In 2009 Our Lady of Perpetual Help was purchased. Her name was changed to The Chapel On The Pond. Public prayer and restoration of the “tired” building began immediately. Regular, non- denominational church services honoring Jesus Christ soon followed. Our garden was tamed, irrigated and landscaped. A portable toilet was rented and maintained.

The Chapel on the Pond is happy to announce that a bathroom is being designed and soon to be built for the convenience of indoor plumbing.

Always honoring Jesus Christ, The Chapel On The Pond and garden has become a community sanctuary for rest and renewal, enjoyment and learning, activity and togetherness. In addition to steady year-round worship on Sunday at 10:00 am and Bible study on Tuesday at 6:00 pm, the Chapel has welcomed weddings and memorials, revivals, concerts, talent shows, dance, poetry, art and drama events. Possibly our most popular community event was the annual July “Pond Road Block Party and Blueberry Bake-Off.” Our most well-attended spiritual events were our revivals and our 6:00 Vesper service with musical accompaniment.

Today, we are exploring additional outreach into our community and beyond. Boathouse Ministries is continuing a voyage of evangelism and adventure aboard the boat, the Vesper. To follow the Vesper blog, go to

Our Statement of Faith

We believe in God the Creator as One God in three Persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is One, is Holy, and has always been. Man is made to glorify Him, to trust and obey. We glorify Him by believing in Jesus Messiah, perfect God and perfect man. His voluntary death by crucifixion delivered God's people, Jew and Gentile, from the punishment due to all for unholiness. The Holy blood was offered for the unholy. One sinless death given for all life. God's power even over death, power through the Holy Spirit, is ours today through faith. Jesus lives.
